Chino Soria
Chino Soria has been consistently working across several disciplines including painting, drawing, collage and assemblage. His work draws on techniques such as crafts, jewelry, and architectural modeling. By combining discarded materials with deliberate choices, his work explores the tension between our physical surroundings and the consumer systems that shape them, sitting at the intersection of two contradictory impulses—the drive to accumulate things and the longing for beauty.
Chino holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Buenos Aires, a background that informs his spatial awareness and approach to construction across media.
His work has been exhibited internationally in both solo and group exhibitions. Solo presentations include shows at The Light Gallery in London, Braga Menéndez Arte Contemporáneo in Buenos Aires, and Hyperspots Art Space in Venice, California. He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions across Europe and the Americas, including at the Ricardo Rojas Cultural Center and the National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires, the Contemporary Art Museum of Ibiza, Marina Kessler Gallery in Miami, and Cecilia Brunson Projects in London. His work has received several distinctions, including a First Prize for an international artist at Matrices in Budapest, an Honorable Mention at the Provincia Bank Contest in Buenos Aires, and recognition at Ibizagrafic’02, where his work was also acquired.
